Sweden to roll out large-scale vaccination against Covid-19

According to local media reports on Thursday, Sweden is planning a large-scale vaccination because there are signs that the mutated COVID-19 virus is spreading across the country.

Magnus Thyberg, the vaccine coordinator of the Stockholm Capital Region, told Swedish Television (SVT) on Thursday: “We hope to start this work on a certain scale from April.”

He said most such vaccinations will be handled by clinics and specialized vaccination centers.

”Booking is a way to avoid congestion and the spread of infection. Therefore, we are now developing a booking system where you should be able to make appointments at all vaccination clinics,” he added.

According to “SVT News”, about 800,000 people in Vastra Gotaland in western Sweden will be vaccinated, and about 470,000 in Skane in southern Sweden.

The planned broader vaccination plan came at a time when infections appeared to be on the rise, prompting the government to announce possible partial lockdown measures on Wednesday.
