Italy: Covid-19 death toll surpasses 130k

 

According to the health ministry, 2,800 fresh COVID-19 tests were performed in Italyin the last 24 hours, and 72 coronavirus patients died during that time.

There were 4,664 new cases and 34 deaths on Sunday.

 

As a result, the COVID-19 death toll in Italy has surpassed 130,000, reaching 130,027.

The ministry announced 2,800 new COVID cases and 36 deaths on Monday.

It added that in the last 24 hours, 318,593 COVID tests had been performed, up from 120,045 on Monday.

 

The optimism rate was 1.3 percent on Tuesday, down from 2.3 percent the day before.

 

According to the government, 554 COVID patients are being treated in intensive care in Italy, down nine from Monday.

 

It stated there were 4,165 coronavirus patients in regular hospital wards, down 35 from the previous day.
