The green certificate, which verifies that a person has been vaccinated against the coronavirus, has recovered from it, or has recently tested negative, is required to do many things in Italy, including travel abroad or on high-speed trains, attending certain events, and sitting at a table in bars and restaurants.

It is required for all school and higher education employees, as well as university students.

Anyone who does not wish to get vaccinated for COVID-19 but wants to participate in a variety of activities is required to pay for coronavirus testing on a regular basis in order to obtain the Green Pass.

The Green Pass, according to Brunetta, should be made available to people who use both public and private services.

Premier Mario Draghi’s government was expecting to expand the scope of the Green Pass this week, making it mandatory for public sector employees and possibly private sector employees as well.

However, due to Matteo Salvini’s doubts and some technological issues that need to be resolved, this has been put on hold.
