Latest travel rules to enter Hungary

 

Authorities in the central European country have begun easing precautions in place to prevent the spread of the virus and its new strains, especially for vaccinated travellers and permit them to enter its territory even for tourism purposes.

Following in the footsteps of other countries around the world, Hungarian authoritieshave introduced an entry ban and other restrictions since the beginning of the COVID19 outbreak as part of their efforts to stem an increase in number of infections.

According to the official website of the European Union, citizens of the following categories are not required to comply with the conditions of entry, regardless of their nationality;

People who have recovered from the virus in the past months from the date of entry

Hungarian immunity holders and their accompanying minor children, if traveling together

Immunity document holders are authorized by the authorities Hungary approves on the basis of agreements and their accompanying minor children, in case they travel together

Persons arriving in Hungary via the land border with Serbia, excluding entry by civil air

Crossing the border world for the carriage of goods or on diplomatic, service and sailor passports

“Travelers who meet any of the above criteria do not need any permits or PCR tests prior to entering Hungary, they do not need to self-isolate and their length of stay is not limited,” the statement said.  


Earlier this month, the Hungarian Gazette announced that as of August 7, travelers from certain regions of the world will be eligible to travel to Hungary, as long as they have a negative PCR test result on arrival. procedures to this country.


The same source revealed that passengers arriving in Hungary from the following countries are allowed to enter if they meet the check conditions:

Member States of the European Union and the Schengen Area

All the territories mentioned in the decree of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the agreement with the Ministry of Public Security

Israel, Albania, Azerbaijan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, United Kingdom, United States, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, China

Other exemptions may apply to business travelers as well as certain others.
