Norway: Travel restrictions continue for all visitors

For the second week in a row, the Norwegian authorities have taken no steps to ease entrance procedures for visitors from any European or international countries.

In actuality, limitations have been strengthened only for visitors from Finland’s Lapland region who do not have a COVID-19 certificate.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Health and Care Services, travelers from Lapland will be quarantined beginning December 13, next Monday, if they do not have a current COVID-19 certificate. Enjoyed this post? Never miss out on future posts by following us.

According to the press release, “Children and young people under the age of 18 are free from entering quarantine regardless of where they come from.”

It further notes that tourists who produce negative findings of a PCR test done no more than three days before to arrival can have their entry quarantine lifted early.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health notes that the green and orange categories of countries remain empty for the second week in a row.

The red category contains a very small number of EU/EEA countries. Bulgaria, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Spain, and the Vatican City are currently listed in the red category.

During COVID-19, arrivals over the age of 18 from the red and dark red areas are required to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival in Norway, according to Norwegian entry requirements.

All travelers above the age of 18 must submit negative findings from a pre-departure COVID-19 test, regardless of where they are from in the world.

Within 24 hours of arriving in Norway, the test must be completed. Exemptions are available for travelers who may provide a COVID-19 certificate with a genuine QR code.

At the same time, everyone is required to do another antigen test upon arrival in Norway, with no exceptions.
