Italy: Sardinia will allow only vaccinated travelers

The Governor of Sardinia, Christian Solinas, said that only people who can prove that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 can enter the area this summer.

He told the daily newspaper L’Unione Sarda: “People who enter Sardinia must produce a certificate that they are negative for the coronavirus or have been vaccinated.” “The inspection system will be in place long before the start of summer.”

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily, and one of the 20 regions in Italy. It is located west of the Italian peninsula, north of Tunisia and south of Corsica in France.

The island is one of the five regions that Italy has granted a certain degree of domestic autonomy through special regulations. Its official name is Regione Autonoma della Sardegna.
