A United Nations report shows that between 2014 and 2018, more than 350 people in Portugal were victims of human trafficking, mainly men in forced labor.

The data is contained in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) “Global Human Trafficking Report 2020”.

In the case of Portugal, the data reflects the period from 2014 to 2018, of which 356 people were identified as victims of human trafficking.

The United Nations report compiled official Portuguese data, showing that during this period, during the five years analyzed, men dominated the victims, especially in 2016, which identified 105 male victims of trafficking.

Between 2014 and 2018, a total of 221 men were found, and these data have been updated to July 2019. In these years, in addition to 33 girls, 14 boys and four other minors of unknown gender, 84 female victims were registered.
