Sweden: Negative coronavirus test now mandatory for all arrivals

All persons wishing to enter Swedish territory are required to show a negative result of a coronavirus test upon arrival.

SchengenvisaInfo.com reported that the decision was made in accordance with a recommendation of the Swedish Public Health Agency to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic discovered in many countries around the world.

The Swedish government announced that travellers will be barred from entering the country if they fail to produce documents proving a negative result of the coronavirus test and are under 48 hours old.

The rules are different for persons from third countries and persons from the European Union or the Schengen area. The citizens of Denmark, the United Kingdom and Norway will also apply different rules.
