Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced Tuesday night that individuals who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 living in Greece will be able to request the use of digital vaccination certificates when needed.
Mitsotakis presented the document at a meeting on the progress of the country’s national vaccination plan, which he described as a “Greek innovation.”
The Prime Minister said that the document will be available online at https://www.gov.gr/ or can be obtained at the Citizen Service Center (KEP).
“Today, we started issuing digital vaccination certificates. This is another innovation in Greece. The certificate will be automatically registered in each citizen’s email to use the certificate he considers appropriate. This is also a safety precaution. Because only in this way can legal vaccination be confirmed.” Mitsotakis said.
The Greek authorities quickly pointed out that the document only contains basic information, which has been protected by QR codes, unique codes and digital stamps.
