Spain: Electricity prices to fall by the weekend

 

While the wholesale price of electricity is expected to drop by more than 10 euros on Saturday, 20 November, this is still a consolation for most consumersas it will mark the third consecutive day the cost has exceeded. more than 200 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). This is also the third highest value seen in November so far.


Specifically, the price will fall to 218.46 euros, or 10.38 euros (4.53%) lower than on Friday.


This month, the average cost of electricity was 176.70 euros/MWh, 11.67% cheaper than in October, the most expensive month in history.


For savvy homeowners, the cheapest time to use electrical appliances is from 5am to 6am on Saturdays, for 188 euros, while the most expensive will be from 9 pm to 10 pm, when each megawatt hour will cost 260 euros.

Overall, the cost of electricity in Spain is 5.28 times higher than at the same time last year, when it was only 41.30 euros/MWh.
