The Uffizi gallery in Florence will organize a major exhibition in Forlì next year to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death.
Director Heike Schmidt said: “A grand performance will be dedicated to the highest poet in a very symbolic place, because the author of “The Divine Comedy” has been in exile in those places for several years.”
“For this extraordinary initiative, the Uffizi Gallery and art historians will acquire some of the works most closely related to Dante and his time. Schmidt said: “There will be loans from all over the world.”
