Italy : nearly 400 new COVID-19 cases


The Civil Protection Department said on Friday that Italy had registered 393 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

This number increased compared to 379 new cases on Thursday. There are 272 new cases in Lombardy, representing 69.2% of the daily increase on Friday. 

The Department said 34,223 people with COVID-19 died in Italy, an increase of 56. There were 53 new victims on Thursday. In Lombardy on Friday there were 31 new victims compared to 25 on Thursday. According to the Protezione Civile (PC), 17385 people have recovered from the coronavirus in Italy, an increase of 1747. This compares to Thursday’s increase of 1399. 

The PC said that 28,979 people are currently infected with coronavirus, 1,640 down on Thursday when the fall was 1,073. The total number of cases in Italy, currently positive, deceased and those who have recovered is now 236,305.
