Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual Athena Art Fair will be held this year and will open its portal on October 15 through www.aavirtual.gr.
The Art Athina virtual platform is hosted by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Art Athina is one of the oldest art fairs in Europe and this year will be different. Art lovers will have the opportunity to “browse” on computers, tablets or smartphones for free in more than 55 galleries in Greece and abroad, and learn about artists and their works without time limit, because Art Athina Virtual will be accessible weekly 7 days (until the end of October) 24 hours a day (different lighting in the morning and evening).
However, in addition to online visits, the Greek Art Museum will also hold a week-long event from October 13th to October 20th. Over the course of eight days, the museum will display artworks that will be displayed online in its natural space. This special event was organized by the Pan-Hellenic Art Museum Association, the Athena Art Team and the art director Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos.
