Catalonia: gradual reopening of Bars and restaurants

The Catalan government will gradually reduce the current measures to curb the Covid-19 virus starting next Monday, November 23.

Bars and restaurants will be able to reopen at 30% capacity both inside the business office and on the outdoor terrace.

Cultural activities can be restored to 50%. This will apply to cinemas, theaters and concert halls, with a maximum total capacity of 600 allowed. Outdoor sports will be allowed again, but should also maintain 50% of its normal capacity.

The health authorities hope to phase out these measures, believing that opening up too quickly will have a long-term adverse effect. Therefore, the downgrade process will be divided into multiple steps.

The reopening will be completed by different departments, and the move will last for 15 days before re-evaluation.

In the second phase, the weekend lockdown will be transferred from the town to the county, which means that people will be allowed to leave the town but not the county.

The gym will also be allowed to reopen at a price of 50%, while the upper limit of the capacity of bars and restaurants will be increased to 50%, and the culture will be able to accommodate 70%.
