The Ministry of Health said that Italy exceeded 50,000 COVID-19 victims on Monday, and the death toll was updated to 50,453, an increase of 630 since Sunday.
The previous daily increase was 562.
The Ministry of Health said that in the past 24 hours, there were 22,930 new COVID cases in Italy, which is about 5,400 fewer than Sunday.
Since the start of the emergency, the total number of people infected has now reached 1,431,795.
For the first time since the start of the second wave, the number of people currently positive has fallen by 9,098, from 805,947 on Sunday to 796,849 on Sunday.
