According to the “Open Door 2020” survey results released by the Institute of International Education (IIE), more and more Americans choose Greece as their study destination.
Greece hosted 5834 American students in the 2018/19 academic year, an increase of 11.7% over the previous year.
Thousands of Greek students have chosen to study in the United States. During the 2019/20 academic year, a total of 2,489 Greek students studied in American academic institutions.
Greece has risen by two places and is currently ranked 12th in the world in terms of destinations for American students studying abroad (14th in 2019 and 17th in 2018), and 5,834 American students studying in Greece in the 2018/19 academic year , and 5,223 the previous year.
In the 2019/20 academic year, there were 2,489 Greek students in the United States receiving educational exchanges, of which nearly half (1132) took graduate courses, 793 students took undergraduate courses, and the rest took other non-degree courses. Last year, 2,523 Greek students studied in the United States.
