Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called on the European Commission to issue certificates of vaccination against the coronavirus to facilitate travel between the EU.
The Prime Minister of Greece responded to his request in a letter to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The letter emphasized that the Greek authorities have been trying to issue certificates that “promote the freedom of movement of people vaccinated against COVID-19.”
Mitsotakis pointed out: “There is an urgent need to reach a consensus on the structure of the vaccination certificate so that it can be accepted in all member states.” He also pointed out that he plans to discuss this issue during the EU summit on January 21.
