Portuguese restaurants expect to lay-off more than 100,000 workers

Portuguese restaurants expect that they will have to lay off more than 100,000 workers in the industry in the first quarter of this year. 

 


According to a survey among restaurant owners conducted by the National Hotel Promotion and Innovation Association PRO.VAR, business owners expect that by March, each restaurant will have to lay off 3 to 4 people. 

 


They blamed the pandemic, lockdowns, restrictions and lack of support funds for the epidemic forecast.
