From May at the earliest, British tourists who received the covid-19 vaccine have been allowed to enter Greece.
Earlier this week, Boris Johnson announced that according to his roadmap, a holiday will be available from May 17.
After his announcement, international holiday bookings surged by 600%. Ryanair, easyJet, TUI, and Thomas Cook reported that bookings to Greece, Spain and Turkey have surge.
Athens is seeking to promote the country’s vital holiday industry, which has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to The Times, government officials are considering a plan to allow British tourists to enter the country. These tourists can prove that they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in time during the summer months and have implemented their own plan to inform airport staff and Vacation staff provide vaccines.
At the same time, EU leaders will meet on Thursday to discuss the idea of a “vaccination passport”. Two weeks ago, Greece and Israel reached a “green passport” on tourism.
