AstraZeneca said today that it will deliver 5 million COVID -19 vaccines to Italy by the end of March.
It said it plans to provide Italy with more than 20 million poking shots by the end of this year. The launch of the Italian vaccine was hit by delays in delivery from AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
So far, Italy has provided the first dose of COVID vaccine to more than 3.5 million people. The new government of Mario Draghi vowed to expedite the plan.
In Italy, from Jan 3 to 4:48pm CET, 24 February 2021, there have been 2,832,162 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 96,348 deaths.
