According to broadcaster ORF and newspaper Heute, about 1,000 Viennese people did not attend scheduled coronavirus vaccine appointments last week.
A spokesperson for the Vienna Health Commissioner Peter Hacker said that people are worried that it may be a suspicion of the AstraZeneca vaccine, although some may not come because of illness or because of forgetting.
The city stated that no vaccine was wasted because the vaccine was given to people on the waiting list.
