Covid-19: More than 2 million in Spain have had two jabs

As of last weekend, a total of 2,505,842 members of the public in Spain had been vaccinated with both vaccines.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 1,066,350 doses of coronavirus vaccine, 672,750 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech and 393,600 doses of Moderna were distributed in Spain on Monday (March 29). The speed of the distribution and management of vaccines has finally increased, making the authorities hope that they can indeed achieve their goal of vaccinating 70% of the population (about 33 million people) by the end of this summer.

In addition, the Minister of Health Carolina Darias said that she is confident that all Spanish people in their 80s will be vaccinated within two weeks. Not only are more doses of the vaccine being distributed to the elderly, but since the authorities have now authorized AstraZeneca to use the drug for people under 65, health centers in some areas have begun to contact those who will be 65 this year.

Once Janssen’s first single-dose vaccine arrives, which is expected to begin on April 15, the vaccination rate of this vaccine should rise further.

Last weekend, Spain injected 7,067,371 doses of coronavirus vaccine, and 2,505,842 patients received both vaccines. On Sunday, the Madrid region reached the milestone of 1 million doses, while Andalusia administrated 1,378,743 doses.
