In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Greece on Thursday restricted the range of activities to within 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) of home.
Daily cases continue to increase as the country recorded 2,703 cases of the virus on Wednesday, the highest number of confirmed cases so far in 2021.
Nikos Hardalias, Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, announced that until March 16, citizens are allowed to stay within 2 kilometers of their homes from supermarkets, food stores and other necessities stores or banks.
Likewise, personal sports or pet walks must be carried out near the home; the minister added that it will not be possible to carry out these activities beyond the city limits.
For citizens who claim to need home visits to people in need, if the authorities conduct random street checks, they will have to be able to provide clarification.
