Bulgaria is the latest EU country to reopen to tourists from outside the EU, enabling travelers from over 80 nations, including Canadians and Americans, to come for pleasure.

Bulgaria, like its forward-thinking neighbors Greece and Croatia, has opted not to wait for the EU’s ‘Digital Green Certificate,’ which is set to begin in June, but has instead proclaimed the nation open to tourist now.

Bulgaria has chosen an a la carte system of admission regulations, allowing visitors to choose the one that best matches their needs. Incoming visitors must present proof of a recent negative covid test, proof of recovery from the virus, or proof of immunization.

Visitors to Bulgaria have three choices for entering the country securely. Tourists can pick from three different options:

If you have a negative Covid test, you can use PCR or Antigen. The traveller must demonstrate documentation of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival or a negative Antigen test within 48 hours.

Proof of Recovery: To confirm a recent recovery from the virus, the passenger might produce a positive PCR or Antigen test taken 15-180 days before to entrance.

Inside confined interior places and outdoors, masks are essential if a social distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained. Masks are not required for eating, jogging, going to the beach, or participating in other outside activities.
