Monocle is still keeping a close eye on Portugal. Porto was already ranked among the finest small cities in the world by 2020. Lisbon takes the top spot in the British magazine list this time.
The Portuguese capital is ranked seventh in the “Monocle” list of cities with the highest quality of life, with Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, taking top position for the fourth time since 2007.
In 2018, Lisbon was ranked 12th, with a rise in 2021 compared to previous years. Monocle said that Lisbon has been flooded with “new people and new ideas,” as well as the municipality’s affordable income programs and new tram lines, such as the 24 that links Campolide and Praça Luis de Cames.
Green areas, more environmentally friendly options, services, and historical, economic, and safety concerns all play a role in the decision-making process.
