After meeting all the requirements to be part of the main system used for travel to Europe, the European Commission has announced that New Zealand has officially joined the EU’s COVID19 digital certificate.

The new announcement confirms that COVID certificates issued by the competent authorities issued by New Zealand will now be recognized under the same conditions as the EU COVID19 digital certificates issued by countries in the EU and Schengen areas.
This means that New Zealand citizens can travel to EU member states and all other countries also connected to the EUDCC without being subject to strict entry rules as long as they have Certificate of vaccination or recovery.
New Zealanders who have recently tested negative for COVID19 are also eligible to travel within the EU without being subject to additional entry rules, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
Similarly, New Zealand authorities should also maintain relaxed entry rules for travelers from the EU and third countries with EU COVID19 digital certificates.
Commission decision The European Union now recognizes the COVID certificate issued in New Zealand which has been welcomed and appreciated by the New Zealand authorities.
“Good news! The Aotearoa New Zealand Flag of New Zealand Immunization Certificate is now linked to the European Union COVID Digital Certificate System (EUDCC). COVID19 certificates issued by the DCC countries of New Zealand and the EU are recognized as equivalent. Many thanks to the European Commission for your cooperation,” said New Zealand’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Except for New Zealand, three other third countries – Georgia, Moldova and Serbia – also joined the EU’s COVID digital certificate yesterday.
