Malta: New requirements to enter the country

Malta‘s new travel limits went into effect on Wednesday, as health officials battle an escalating number of COVID-19 cases every day.

The most significant change is the necessity of a vaccination certificate for admission onto the island without quarantine from nations on the’red list,’ as well as the introduction of obligatory quarantine for unvaccinated newcomers.

Currently, the following vaccination certificates are accepted by the authorities:

the Maltese Vaccination Certificate.

the EU Digital COVID Certificate (including the Switzerland certifcate).

the UK’s NHS COVID Pass.

the Dubai Health Authority Vaccine Certificate.

the Turkish Vaccine certificate.

BTTD

They must prove that you have completed the whole immunization regimen at least 14 days after your final dose.

Although anybody with the EU’s digital COVID certificate (EUDCC) may demonstrate the authorities that they are completely vaccinated, have been tested for the virus, or had previously caught COVID-19, the Maltese authorities will only accept the vaccination portion of this document.

Importantly, the vaccination you received must be authorized by the European Medicines Authority, which means it must be manufactured by Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).
