France exceeds 100 coronavirus deaths

According to data from the French Ministry of Health, 111 people died from COVID-19 in hospitals on Tuesday, the first time the daily toll has exceeded 100 since June 1.

The latest data brought the total death toll from COVID-19 to 112,844 since the outbreak began.

The seven-day moving average of fatalities jumped to 72 on Tuesday, up from 66 on Monday and less than 20 per day at the end of July.


In addition, 1,953 individuals with COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care facilities in France.

 

The French Parliament passed a draft law earlier this month that requires citizens and visitors to have a COVID-19 permit, often known as a “Pass Sanitaire.”

 

Except for French residents, all overseas travelers seeking admission to public attractions and hospitality venues will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test result beginning August 9.

 

This implies that all tourists must verify that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or give a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours to get entry to the following locations:
