France bans US tourists from entering for nonessential travel

 

 

Because the United States has been added on France‘s orange list, unvaccinated Americanswill no longer be allowed to enter the country without restrictions.

 


After an increase in COVID-19 infection, the EU recommended that Member States implement harsher entry criteria on travelers from the United States, Israel, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

As a result, beginning September 12, unvaccinated citizens of the United States, Oman, and Israel will be allowed to travel to France only for necessary purposes if they submit a negative test taken prior to travel and agree to self-isolate for seven days upon arrival. Prior to this, Spain had enacted more severe measures for American visitors. As a result, unvaccinated US citizens have been prohibited from entering Spanish territory since September 6, unless they can show proof of vaccination or a negative test certificate.

Denmark, like Spain, has placed the United States and Israel in the orange category, requiring unvaccinated visitors from these countries to perform a PCR or antigen test before to departure and to be quarantined for ten days before being subjected to additional testing requirement upon arrival.
